Selecta Biosciences is seeking a talented and dedicated individual to join our fast paced company! The Senior SEC Reporting Technical Accountant will support Technical Accounting and SEC Reporting functions, including 10Q and 10K, supporting the development of the proxy statement and Form 8-ks, along with research and write up of technical accounting issues and new business initiatives with accounting implications.

This role will work closely with senior management team members, various finance, and accounting personnel, as well as with our external auditors.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the planning, preparation and filing of periodic SEC reporting through the accurate and timely filing of Form 8-Ks, 10-Qs, 10-Ks and other filings.
  • Manage distribution of drafts to various internal and external parties, including accumulating and addressing comments received from external auditors, legal counsel, and executive management
  • Manage preparation and review of XBRL tagging within Wdesk
  • Assist in researching accounting matters and disclosures, documenting the Company's position in memos, perform peer benchmarking analyses on disclosure trends and comment letters and assisting in other special projects, as required.
  • Work with the Company's external auditors for tie out of SEC filings, SEC and GAAP checklists and understanding of technical accounting positions
  • Assist with the Company's SOX compliance efforts, including maintenance of the Company's SOX documentation and compliance with the financial reporting processes
  • Assist the Controller and Finance team with special projects
  • Perform Other duties as necessary

Desired Skills and Experience

  • CPA or CPA candidate required
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or Master's candidate, Master's preferred
  • 3-5 years' public accounting experience or an appropriate mixture of public and industry experience with an SEC registrant
  • Strong technical US GAAP and SEC knowledge
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills are a must
  • Thorough understanding of documentation requirements for Internal Controls
  • Strong interpersonal and professional written/verbal communication skills
  • Team player with a positive "can do" attitude
  • Ability to multi-task and balance competing priorities in a deadline-oriented, ambiguous and complex environment. 
  • Must be able and willing to work extended, non-traditional hours as needed during peak periods.
  • Willingness to learn new things and take on new tasks
  • Experience with NetSuite and Wdesk preferred
